My name is Connor Stevenson and starting today I will be offering specialized physical therapy treatment for gymnasts through my business, Top Tier Physical Therapy. I believe that athletes deserve to have healthcare providers who understand the specifics of the sport in which they are competing. This is especially important for high level athletes like gymnasts. My goal is to provide expert, one on one physical therapy treatment for gymnasts which will be incorporated into their workouts within the gym. By doing this, I will be able to provide the best treatment possible and allow gymnasts to return to gymnastics faster and more effectively.
Allow me to tell you more about my background and qualifications. I grew up around gymnastics and was inspired to pursue physical therapy as a career due to my own injuries from competitive sports. I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University and graduated at the top of my class. While completing graduate school, I studied under a mentor who specializes in the treatment of competitive gymnasts and dancers. Together we performed research on injury prevention which has been presented at several conferences and is currently in the process of being published. I started Top Tier Physical Therapy with the goal of providing better rehabilitation for injured gymnasts by working on location with both the athletes and the coaches. I strongly believe that this results in much better results for gymnasts than going to conventional physical therapy organizations who don’t have the knowledge or equipment to understand and replicate the unique stresses that gymnastics places on the body. By being available within the gym, I hope to develop a working relationship with the athletes and identify injuries earlier which drastically reduces the amount of time lost from competition. I also want to serve as a source of knowledge for athletes and coaches to prevent common injuries that gymnasts sustain while training. To accomplish this, I will be offering free injury prevention programs to all gymnasts throughout the year.
Don’t let pain get in the way of training and competing! Feel free to contact me for more information if your gymnast (or yourself/loved ones) has been struggling with pain and wants to get back to 100% with Top Tier Physical Therapy!
